The European Brass Band Championships 2008 will offer the very best venues for the performers and the audience. The facilities are the very best , and will give the participating bands great posibilities for an optimal performance. Visitors will experience the best bands and fantastic soloists, both in the competitions, and in the concerts throughout the week. Stavanger Concert Hall
The Stavanger Concert Hall is the citys main venue for concerts and shows, and is an attractive venue for meetings, galas and other gatherings. It is located in the beautiful surroundings of Bjersted Park, a ten-minute walk from the city centre of Stavanger.

Stavanger Concert Hall was completed in 1982 and holds a central place in the cultural life of the city of Stavanger. It presents performances from the region of Stavanger and Rogaland County as well as by internationally-acclaimed artists. The concert hall seeks the widest possible performance profile and thus, although concert presentation is its main activity, it also serves a number of other purposes. In addition to a wide range of concerts, Stavanger Concert Hall hosts gala performances, shows and musicals as well as classical ballet and modern dance. The foyer is often used for smaller concerts, receptions and conferences.

The Concert Hall is also the home of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, and is located in the beautiful park area known as Bjergsted. The Bjergsted Park is home to the musical department of the University of Stavanger, as well as the local Culture. SchoolThe idyllic park is situated only a stones throw from Stavangers City Centre, and has always been a place for recreation and amusement for the citys inhabitants. In earlier days, the townspeople felt they were in the country at Bjergsted, while today the park is so close to the city centre that its character is more like an urban park. The unique atmosphere in Bjergsted creates a framework for a rich musical life, as a number of institutions and organizations are found here. The Bjergsted is a cultural oasis, unique throughout the country and renown internationally as a focal point for professionals and amateurs, pedagogue and student, artists and audience, and other interested in music and the arts. The Concert Hall is frequently used for major band events, annually hosting the Siddis Brass national entertainment contest and the Norwegian School Band Championships. Park

Stavanger Concert Hall is the main concert and contest hall for the European Championships, and will host all the competitions, the Gala Concert and other major concerts.

Atlantic Hall
The Atlantic Hall is the grand concert hall situated in the official EBBC hotel SAS Atlantic Hotel, one of the biggest hotels in Stavanger, built on long traditions. The hall itself has room for up to 550 guests.

The hall is considered one of the most beautiful venues in Stavanger, and has through the years been used for everything from rock-concerts to conferences, dance classes and the Norwegian championship in bartending, numerous banquettes and exhibitions, official meetings and fashion shows. The old Italian chandeliers from 1875 is hanging low from the ceiling, giving the room an intimate and magical feeling. The acoustics and sound in the room is flawless, and the state of the art sound system is made for perfect concerts.


The Gala Concert for the European Conductors Competition, the Opening Ceremony, the European Party and the Farewell Concert will take place in the concert hall Atlantic Hall.
